Rain crippled normal life in Nalgonda district. Three persons reportedly died in the district and agricultural fields were submerged under sheet of water.

In Miryalaguda, 25 families of Sitarampuram colony were shifted to rehabilitation centres. Several roads and bridges saw water overflowing and the traffic was disrupted.

Major parts of Warangal were virtually under siege. About 48 residential colonies were inundated by flood waters. In low-lying areas where the flooding was heavy, the residents were shifted to rehabilitation centres.

A part of the portico of the century-old British era building housing the Mandal Revenue Office and Sub-Treasury Office in Yellendu collapsed in the early hours of Friday. However, none were injured in the incident.

According to Irrigation department, Kinnerasani dam in Palvancha mandal, Taliperu reservoir in Charla mandal and Peddavagu reservoir in Aswaraopeta mandal received heavy inflows.

Incessant downpour over the past two days has disrupted coal production in Manuguru and other areas in Kothagudem region resulting in a production loss of more than 50,000 tonnes, sources said.

Gundala mandal in Kothagudem division bore the brunt of incessant rain as the swollen forest streams inundated low-lying culverts in some places in the mandal cutting off road link to several remote tribal habitations.

Four persons are feared dead in Medak district as several parts of Telangana came under sheet of water due to heavy rain since Wednesday. In view of heavy rain, district administration declared holiday for educational institutions.

In Karimnagar, 10 flood gates of Sripada Yellampalli project were lifted and about 18,000 cusecs of water was released downstream.

Nizamabad Collector Yogita Rana alerted official machinery to face flood and heavy rain situation. Traffic was diverted between Banswada- Bichkunda road and Buildings road to Pitlam due to flooding of the low-level causeway at Peddadevada in Bichkunda mandal.
