  • Only 8 employees are left in the department after districts delimitation
  • They have to cater to 543 villages
  • More than 800 applications are pending with the department

Talking to The Hans India, Ramchander a farmer from Shankarayapally Thanda said, “We have applied for our land to be surveyed for more than one year ago before bifurcation. The officials have not responded till date, now with bifurcation of the district causing shortage of employees, survey and demarcation of my land looks even more difficult,” he said.

When enquired about the delay in the land survey process and pending applications, an employee from the department said there were about 40 per cent posts lying left vacant in the entire district before bifurcation of the districts. That had led to pending of large number of applications. Now they have only eight employees and 26 mandals and 543 villages which make their task difficult.

At present, there are more than 800 pending applications with the department, of which, 498 are one-month-old, 295 are three months old, while nine applications are more than three months old. The typists post is withdrawn and the posts of deputy inspector and two inspectors have also been done away with.
