Nalgonda: Demanding the government to allow circulation of high-value banned notes till December 30, the members of Praja Porata Samithi (PRPS) on Monday staged a dharna in front of State Bank of India (SBI) branch at Clock Tower Centre in Nalgonda.

Holding placards, they raised slogans against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the demonetisation move.Speaking on the occasion, PRPS State president Nune Venkata Swamy said the decision of demonetisation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was creating untold hardships to the common man across the country.

He strongly criticised the BJP government for taking demonetisation decision without taking any alternative measures to address the problems of the common man that would arise post currency ban.

Alleging a big a scam behind the note ban, Swamy said rich businessmen who had stashed their black money already converted it into white much before the announcement of demonetisation.

He urged the Prime Minister to make a statement in the Parliament allowing the circulation of old denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 until December 30 to bring respite to the common man.PRPS leaders G Shyam Sunder, K Satyanarayana Chary, R Narsimha, M Prabhu Yadav, M Sudhakar and others participated in the protest.
