Hyderabad: Alleging that many Union Cabinet Ministers were black money holders, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has dared Union Information & Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu to explain how the latter had channelised hundreds of crores of rupees to the Swarna Bharathi Trust. Ponnam was speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday.
Ponnam sought to know why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not speaking about the black money held by Union Ministers, including Venkaiah Naidu. The Centre must disclose how many Union Ministers and State Ministers were using mobile phones for monetary transactions.
What was the logic behind Modi not speaking on demonetisation issue in Parliament, Ponnam queried. Modi was looking down on common people as if they were ‘dacoits’. Hence, Modi had taken the draconian decision of demonetization of high value notes.
It was not proper on the part of the Prime Minister to suggest to the people to do cashless transactions without estimating as to how many people in the nation had the knowledge of doing cashless transactions.
There was a chance that civil war may break out due to the impact of demonetisation. He dubbed the completion of one month of demonetisation on Thursday as ‘nela masikam’.
Ponnam also sought to know whether State Finance Minister Eatala Rajender had knowledge of doing cashless transactions.
He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was behaving like ‘Doodoo Basavanna’ (yesman), without bothering about people standing in queues before banks and ATM centers.
The people were harbouring a doubt whether the TRS would eventually merge with the BJP, he suggested. Ponnam alleged that the common people were not in a position to perform marriages due to demonetisation effect, but BJP leaders were performing marriages by spending hundreds of crores of rupees.
