TJAC’s reported bid to make Indira Park another Marina
Hyderabad: The manner in which the State government unleashed its forces to curb the TJAC protest has sparked off an intense discussion in political circles. Even the TRS leaders who spoke on condition of anonymity with The Hans India expressed dismay over Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao becoming so furious over the protest called by Prof Kodandaram.
Some of the TRS leaders even feared that the way the government reacted might even boomerang. “It’s surprising that KCR who is a master strategist seemingly over-reacted to the protest and gave Prof Kodandaram unwanted mileage,” quipped a TRS leader.
Even as several television channels continued to telecast scenes of protests on the road and police arresting them, no TRS leader was willing to react. The reactions started trickling in only late in the evening.
But reliable sources told The Hans India that the TRS leadership relying on intelligence reports believed that Prof Kodandaram will be floating a new political party on June 2, the day of formation of Telangana state.
The Wednesday protests are designed by the TJAC leadership as a precursor to the unveiling of the new party. Some of the TRS leaders even predicted that the party believed to be floated by TJAC is unlikely to create much electoral impact but may tie up with the Congress to give the later credibility.
Sources revealed to The Hans India that the reports also indicate towards a Jallikattu-type show at Indira Park. TJAC may continue the protests with few thousands of youth for a week to 10 days to convert it into a mega event at Indira Park making it Telangana’s Marina and thereby demonstrating a rehearsal for the launch of the new party, the TRS leadership seems to have believed.
