Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s outburst and overreaction on BJP national president Amit Shah was juvenile and unwarranted. In a statement issued here, BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said the Chief Minister was clearly and heavily rattled with BJP president Amit Shah’s successful visit.
The entire State is discussing it and the people of Telangana have welcomed it, he added. "Chief Minister’s unscrupulous statements on Amit Shah exemplify his intolerance towards criticism and questioning. He must learn the ABC of governance in a democracy. He is clearly an undemocratic leader, who gets scared of Opposition," Rao said.
Krishna Saagar Rao said the Chief Minister is an elected representative and his party today is in power through a democratic process in this State. He should stop thinking that he is the 8th Nizam and Telangana as his fiefdom.
"We welcome and accept his challenge to resign as Chief Minister, if we prove that Amit Shah’s statements are correct. Our State president Laxman will clearly state the factual numbers through a press conference on Thursday," said Rao.
The BJP leader said it is people who would decide which party would get how many seats in an election not Chief Minister’s farce surveys. "He must first get a ‘real survey’ done on his governance to understand how he had failed in the last three years.”
He further added that BJP is a national party ruling 70 per cent of this country. BJP is in Telangana for the last 37 years and it is a party with an organisation from booth level to state leadership. BJP has a clearly defined political ideology, which is now supported by over 15 crore members across the nation.
TRS is a regional party with neither a political organisation nor a political ideology. It has even betrayed the Telangana Vadam, which it proposed by recruiting all those leaders who opposed Telangana state hood through defections. It is politically bankrupt, he said.
Rao said the TRS and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should introspect on their real strength. His party is full of defectors who came for their singular purpose of being in power. They can also disappear for the same purpose overnight.
BJP would ensure TRS is defeated in the next elections. People of this State are aspiring for good governance, democratic spirit, development and social justice which only BJP can provide, he added.
