Hyderabad: Dr MCR HRD Institute organised a ‘Reorientation and Capacity Building Programme’ for district officers of Mahbubnagar, Nagarkarnool, Wanaparthy, and Jogulamba Gadwal here. S Niranjan Reddy, Vice-Chairman, Telangana State Planning Board, in his Inaugural address,

said the government had launched a number of mega development and welfare projects in order to fully meet the aspirations of the people. He called upon employees to implement the programmes to the satisfaction of people. He stated that the government was employee-friendly and advised them to reciprocate by working more than what is expected of them.


A K Goel, IAS (Retd.), Advisor to Government for Planning and Energy, in his special address, lauded the achievements of the government in such domains as irrigation, health, and education. ”Mission Kakatiya is an excellent flagship programme, which will revolutionise water resources utilisation, bring in total transformation in agrarian economy, and alleviate problems of rural poor,” he said and added that the present growth trajectory would enable State to emerge as one of the top performing States in India in near future..

B P Acharya, Special Chief Secretary for Planning and DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, in his presidential address, said the Samagra Kutumba Survey (SKS) data about one crore households across 94 parameters and the geospatial data about public assets provide a rich platform for formulating innovative plans based on the felt needs of villages, mandals, and districts. He added that the District Knowledge and Innovation Centres would emerge as think tanks for improving performance of district administration.

D Ronald Rose, Collector, Mahbubnagar district said that working in watertight compartments has become a thing of the past. “The challenges that the officers face today have wider ramifications and a greater degree of interdepartmental coordination would be a win-win proposition for all stakeholders”, he added.

E Sridhar, Collector, Nagarkurnool District, said employees must possess the required ability and right set of attitude to do the job. “Many a social problem calls for change in the mind-set of people, Employees, therefore, should create positive attitudes among them”, he added.

Swetha Mohanty, IAS, Collector, Wanaparthy District said that the reorganisation of districts has started delivering the results in terms of a closer rapport between administration and people and effective delivery of benefits of different schemes to poor people.

Rajat Kumar Saini, I Collector, Jogulamba Gadwal District said that imparting training to employees in the context of reorganisation of districts is the need of the hour.

Telugu booklets on “Know Your District - Plan Your District (Mana Zilla - Mana Pranalika)” for Mahabubnagar, Nagarkarnool, Wanaparthy, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts were released by S Niranjan Reddy.

Earlier, Dr Gautam Pingle, Head, Centre for Telangana Studies, welcomed. Dr P Lalitha, Consultant, CGG conducted proceedings of the program.
