The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Friday denied that the HUDA (Hyderabad Urban Development Authority) had incurred any loss of Rs 350 crore in executive works on Outer Ring Road (ORR) through separate agency. 

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Friday denied that the HUDA (Hyderabad Urban Development Authority) had incurred any loss of Rs 350 crore in executive works on Outer Ring Road (ORR) through separate agency.

Responding to a report published on The Hans India on 23 June, the HMDA denied that payment was made to respective contractors and concessioner’s without carrying out works on the 158 km long ORR project.

Clarifying the position, the HMDA said the entire Outer Ring Road, 158 kms in length, is taken up in 13 contract packages in 3 Phases namely, Phase-I, Phase-IIA, and Phase-IIB. The Phase-IIA 62.4 kms is taken up on BOT (Annuity) basis through 5 separate Concession Packages.

Further, payments for only works executed by the respective contractors are being made and no payments for works not executed have been made, the HMDA added.
