Hyderabad: The Met Department has predicted continuation of rainfall in Telangana State in the next week from 1st to 7th July.
“Based on the Weather Model run at TSDPS of Planning Department and other available numerical guidance from National Centers (IMD and other centers), it indicates that, with the shift of monsoon rainfall activity to northern parts of the country, subdued rainfall activity is expected to continue during the week mostly over central and southern parts of the Telangana state,” Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) Weather Forecast Consultant Y.V. Rama Rao said on Friday.
There might be light rainfall at a few places in 18 districts of Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Rajanna-Sircilla,Nagarkurnool, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongiri, Jangaon, Medak, Sangareddy, Siddipet and Suryapet. Similarly, light to moderate rainfall has been predicted in remaining 13 districts of Adilabad, Komrambhem-Asifabab, Nirmal, Peddapalle, Karimnagar,Jagtial, Mancherial, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Warangal (U), Warangal (R), Mahabubabad, Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Khammam.
Monsoon remained active during the last one week from 24th to 30th June over Telangana state with above normal rainfall of 36% received during the week. Light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places on most of the days of the week.
Telangana State continued with excess Monsoon rains with average seasonal rainfall at the end of June 2017 is 188.8mm against a normal rainfall of 128.3mm being surplus by +47%. Out of 584 Manadals, 69% of Mandals (405) received excess to large excess, 20% of Mandals (117) received normal, 10% of Mandals (58) received deficit and 1% of Mandals (4) received large deficit rainfall.
The highest rainfall of 88.8mm recorded at Soan (Nirmal) on 24th June during the week.
