Mahankali temple set for grand Bonalu

Hyderabad: Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu festival will be celebrated on a grand manner, said Animal Husbandry & Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Sunday.

Speaking to the media persons, the Minister said the State government has sanctioned adequate funds to the temple for the conduct of Bonalu, the State festival. ``We are expecting several lakhs of devotees from all parts of Telangana and the neighbouring States to visit and have a darshan of Goddess Mahankali at the temple.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao accorded State festival status to Bonalu which used to be conducted on a low-key earlier. Now various departments are coordinating to provide adequate facilities to the devotees. With his directive, various departments are makingarrangements with necessary security. Noted people, VIPs, and leaders, irrespective of party lines will attend the festival and offer special pujas on the occasion”, the Minister said.

All arrangements have been made at all the temples for the Bonalu festival, he said, adding that water packets, uninterrupted power supply, barricading, traffic regulation and parking, sanitation and regular upkeep of the temples are given priority. Srinivas Yadav said the festivities will go on as usual and the devotees from various parts of the State would attend the festival with confidence that their wishes will be fulfilled through the blessings of Goddess Mahankali.
