Hyderabad/New Delhi: Piqued at “the highly critical comments” made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao against the Congress party on Wednesday, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Leader of Opposition in Assembly K Jana Reddy said that the sudden outbursts of the Chief Minister were uncalled-for and appeared to be the result of frustration and fear of losing the next elections.

At a press conference on Thursday, the two leaders said that the Chief Minister had not even spared former speaker of Lok Sabha Meira Kumar and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh. They said Meira Kumar, daughter of Babu Jagjivan Ram, was a highly respected personality.

It was highly regrettable that KCR, out of arrogance, did not show any respect for a Dalit woman leader who had played a major role in Telangana formation. He charged the Chief Minister with trying to defend the sand mafia being run by his relatives in his son KTR's constituency-- Sircilla.

Uttam clarified that the Congress party had nothing to do with the petitions filed against the regularisation of contract employees of the energy department or dependent jobs in SCCL. He demanded that KCR should tender an unconditional apology for making a wrong and misleading statement against the Congress party.

He said that the slang, language and subject that KCR used in Wednesday's press conference did not suit the stature of a Chief Minister. Even his body language and tone were full of arrogance laced with frustration, he said.

Leader of Opposition in state Assembly K Jana Reddy said that the Chief Minister was trying to escape from the responsibility of governance and hence had been blaming the Opposition for his failures. He said that most of the cases pending before courts were filed by workers of Telangana Jagruthi.

This invited immediate reaction from TRS MP K Kavitha, who heads the Telangana Jagruthi.

While talking to media persons in New Delhi, Kavitha categorically denied the Congress allegation that it was a Telangana Jagruthi worker, Satish, who filed a case against appointments in Singareni Collieries Company Limited on compassionate grounds.

Referring to Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy's accusations that TRS was hurting Telangana’s interests, she said on Thursday that she was prepared to give the address of Satish, a follower of the Godavarikhani Congress leader, who had filed the case for proper verification.

It was unfortunate that a senior leader like Jana Reddy preferred to mislead the people on the issue. Satish belonged to 9 Incline of Godavarki Khani and it was he who had filed the case. He was not connected to Telangana Jagruthi in any way.

The TRS would always fight for the rights of the Telangana people and seek their due, come what may. The injustices being heaped on Telangana had not stopped even now, she said and cited as example the issue relating to the Turmeric Board.
