Hyderabad: Accusing Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chief Kodandaram of conspiring with the Congress to defeat the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dared him to fight elections if he had the guts to do so and prove his mettle before indulging in mudslinging on his government on various issues.

The Chief Minister challenged the TJAC leader to plunge into active politics and prove his mettle before indulging in mudslinging on Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government on various issues.

Addressing a press conference at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister said that Kodandaram over estimated himself and thinks he is a big leader in Telangana. KCR said, “soon after bifurcation, Kodandaram went to Digvijay Singh and Sonia Gandhi. He was not in favour of TRS coming to power.

Who is he? He is one among the lakhs of workers whom I developed. I gave the name of TJAC and made him a leader.” He said Kodandaram has no reason to form a JAC now. There is no one worth the name in it. At the time of agitation, all the sections were part of JAC. He is making baseless allegations against a responsible government and has joined hands with “useless” organisations.

The Chief Minister said he had even offered him MLA seat after the bifurcation. “He should explain what is his agenda now. Is attacking KCR his only agenda? Did not KCR achieve Telangana? Why can’t he digest it? I appeal to people not to believe such people and push such organisations aside.”

“Kodandaram pagal pun kar raha hai. jahreele kaam kar raha hai, junoon sar pe chada hai.” (Kodandaram has lost his mind, is spreading negativity and is behaving arrogantly). The JAC leader was never in active politics and elected even as a Sarpanch of a small village.

The hype created on Kodandaram’s leadership was exposed in the just concluded elections to workers unions in Singareni Collieries Company Limited in which the parties backed by Kodandaram suffered a big blow. He was never able to mobilise even 500 people for his meetings, the Chief Minister added.

He questioned him for not supporting Telangana martyr Srikantha Chary’s mother K Shankaramma who lost election as TRS candidate from Huzurnagar assembly constituency. The CM took strong exception to Kodandaram for spreading canards against his government on social media.
