Hyderabad : Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, along with his family members, offered special prayers to the Goddess Kanaka Durga in Vijayawada.
The Chief Minister vowed to present Nose Stud to Goddess Kanaka Durga if Telangana state is formed during the separate statehood movement. Now by offering the Nose Stud to Goddess Kanaka Durga the Chief Minister has fulfilled his vows.
Today morning (Thursday), the Chief Minister reached Vijayawada from Hyderabad Begumpet Airport in a special flight. KCR’s wife Shoba, MAUD Minister K. Tarakarama Rao’s wife Neelima, Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, TRS Parliamentary Party Leader Keshava Rao, Mission Bhagiratha Vice Chairman Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Endowments Commissioner Shiv Shankar and others travelled with the Chief Minister to Vijayawada.
In Vijayawada's Gannavaram Airport, KCR was warmly welcomed by AP Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheshwar Rao, Special Chief Secretary Manmohan Singh, Krishna District Collector, Vijayawada Police Commissioner. On reaching the Kanaka Durga Temple from the airport, the CM was welcomed at the temple by Telangana Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy, Vijayawada Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Temple Trust Committee Chairman Yelamanchili Gouranga Babu, EO Dr Padma, Telangana Endowments Joint Commissioner Krishna Veni. The Temple priests welcomed the CM with a traditional Poorna Kumbha. The CM offered special prayers in the temple. The CM offered the diamond Nose Stud to Goddess Kanaka Durga. The special attraction of the Nose Stud is it includes the design of state official bird ‘Pala Pitta’. After offering prayers and fulfilling vows the CM left Vijayawada for Hyderabad.
During the CM visit to Vijayawada and to the Kanaka Durga Temple the city streets were decorated with welcome poster and flexis. KCR fans in a large scale welcomed him at the airport. Along with CM several people representatives, Corporations Chairmen also offered special prayers in the Kanaka Durga Temple.
