Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday instructed the officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on construction of Regional Ring Road (RRR) on the other side of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), on par with the international standards. The Chief Minister said that he will personally initiate and speak with the concerned officials of the union government for the release of funds for the construction of new ring road.

It is proposed to establish the regional ring road on a stretch of 338 km covering Sangareddy – Gajwel – Chotuppal - Mal – Kadthal - Shadnagar – Chevella – Kandi. The width of the road will be 500 feet. The proposed ring road will surpass the existing Mumbai - Pune, Ahmedabad - Vadodara express highways. The junction roads connecting Vijayawada, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Nagpur will also be developed under ring road. At these junctions the government will acquire 300 to 500 acres land and provide amenities like parking, food courts, rest rooms, parks, children play area, shopping malls, drinking water, and toilets.

At a review meeting with the officials, the Chief Minister said that, “Hyderabad is the best cosmopolitan city in India. The city is developing in leaps and bounds due to affordable and liveable climatic conditions and people are living harmoniously. There will be increase of commuters from nook and corner regularly to Hyderabad. So, the existing ORR will not be adequate for the floating traffic in future.
