Osmania University: Vice Chancellor of English and Foreign Languages University, Prof E Suresh Kumar urged students to overcome stress by befriending people around them. He was addressing the half-day training programme on befriending skills organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN), an NGO, to create awareness among the students on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day.
He also said that counselling centre of the university will help those who need assistance in coping with emotional and mental stress. The training programme was organised as part of the Swachhta Pakhawada Fortnight proposed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. NSS programme coordinator Dr Suvarnalakshmi, programme officer Dr M Udaya were present.
