Hyderabad: Calling Congress leader A Revanth Reddy a traitor who hid his income details from the Income Tax department, TRS MP Balka Suman on Friday urged the Election Commission of India to not to allow the Congress leader to contest elections.

Addressing a press conference here at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS MP said, “As per 2009 election affidavit, Revanth showed his income as Rs 3.6 crore and in the 2014 election affidavit, the income rose to 13.2 crore. Where this money has come from? He has deceived I-T department and the country. ECI should not allow such traitors to contest elections,” said Suman. He went on to say that Revanth Reddy should not live in this society and should be in jail.

However, the TRS leader claimed that TRS had nothing to do with raids, and also condemned the allegations of Congress leaders stating that they were no I-T raids on Jana Reddy even though he has been in Congress for 40 years.
The TRS leader said that police were also inquiring about Rs 50 lakh which Revanth Reddy was offering in the note-for-vote scam. “People should get to know that how a normal painter from Narayanguda can earn crores of rupees. He has become famous for land encroachments and settlements,” said Suman.

The TRS leader wanted to how a machine worth Rs 14 crore would become an Rs 80 crore machine and how a company could purchase that machine? He alleged that Revanth Reddy was using the car gifted by that company. Asking as to how Congress leaders could support Revanth Reddy, Suman demanded the Congress leaders to tell truth about Revanth to people. The TRS leader urged Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to prove his honesty by suspending Revanth from the party.

TRS secretary G Ramchandra Rao alleged that Revanth was another ‘Dera Baba’. He questioned as to how the banks could lend Rs 70 crore for a machine worth of Rs 15 crore. No Congress leader was saying that Revanth Reddy did not commit mistake, but all were demanding not to impose cases on him, said Rao.
