ROs, AROs trained in poll duties at GHMC
M Dana Kishore, DEO Commissioner, GHMC, on Tuesday informed that the Election Commission of India ECI issued a notification for appointing 15 Returning Officers and AROs for the ensuing elections and in this connection, training was being given to all ROs and AROs at GHMC head office
Hyderabad: M Dana Kishore, DEO & Commissioner, GHMC, on Tuesday informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notification for appointing 15 Returning Officers and AROs for the ensuing elections and in this connection, training was being given to all ROs and AROs at GHMC head office.
Recently, some officers underwent training in New Delhi with the ECI.
Now the same officers are imparting training to the ROs and AROs on how to perform the duties as ROs while taking nominations etc.
DEO Ravi, the Joint Collector (Hyderabad), Hari Chandana, GHMC Zonal Commissioner conducted the training programme and imparted a clear knowledge about the process of elections while performing their duties.
The DEO said the main purpose of the training was to teach about the roles of RO and AROs, the process of receiving nominations and the working of EVMs, VVPATs.
It also covered topics such as: how to conduct voting process; how to train the polling officers; model code of conduct and its implementation; vulnerability mapping etc.
The DEO also explained about all election related provisions of the Acts and Laws.
The ROs have been provided with all the relevant materials.
They shall identify place and establish their office to take up the process of elections like receiving nominations etc.
