Kothagudem: A one-day workshop was conducted by the Collector with all electoral officers at the Kothagudem Club review the preparedness for polls. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector explained how to discharge duties during the elections.

He said some officer visited the observation of the polling stations and polling booths. However, others are yet to make the field visits in villages. Every officer should make a plan for the visit. He further added that the electoral officers have been appointed in mandals to maintain relations with the people to solve their problems in villages.

The officers were asked to arrange separate arrangements for the physically challenge people so that they can cast their votes. At every polling station one wheel chair will be arranged for the physically challenged voters, he added. To find the sensitive villages and make the special protections to those villages in the district, he emphasised.

District SP Sunil Dutt said every officer should inform to the department when he is visiting the sensitive villages and provide two or three phone numbers in the police station for the information said, the SP. The SP asked for special protection in all polling centres in the district.

District Joint Collector K Venkateswarlu, ASP Sangram Singh Patil, ITDA Project Officer Pamela Sathpathy, Sub-Collector Bhavesh Mishra, Assistant Trainee Collector Ila Tripati and all electoral officers attended the meeting.
