Hyderabad : Retired IPS officer and former Commissioner of Hyderabad City Police M. V. Krishna Rao will inaugurate the 10-day long Maulana Azad Day celebration by addressing the students of Maulana Azad National Urdu University Model School in Vattepalli, near Falaknuma on Friday.
Maulana Azad, a front-line freedom fighter and first education minister of independent India, was born on November 11, 1888. The government of India has declared his birthday as National Education Day.
Following a series of literary and cultural events, Maulana Azad Day Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Padma Shri Akhtarul Wasey, Professor Emeritus, on his role in strengthening the cultural diversity of India on November 10.
