Malkajgiri: A road in Meeryalaguda and Vijaynagar Colony was dug up for laying underground drainage pipes but was not repaired, causing a lot of inconvenience to local residents. When locals confronted with the contractor who was given the contract of laying underground pipes, he rebuffed them with arrogant answers and said that they can complain to higher authorities. Fed up with the arrogant attitude of the contractor, local residents met The Hans India reporter to take up the issue.

Colony residents were not able use their vehicles due to dug up road. A person living in BJR colony had been seriously ill and his family members were forced to carry him on a makeshift stretcher as ambulance could not reach his house due to the dug-up road. Local residents Anjamma, Rafiq and others demanded higher authorities to intervene in the matter and ensure that the road is repaired at the earliest.
