Musheerabad: Gandhi Hospital outsourcing nursing staff staged protest over non-payment of salaries for last three months on Thursday. The protest was organised by TS Medical Contract Employees & Workers Union, which is affiliated to AITUC.Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of AITUC Hyderabad M Narsimha said that the nursing staff members have not been receiving their salaries for last three months.

Though there were several representations to authorities and contractors, no one has responded so far, he said. Narsimha appealed the government to take necessary steps to address the issue as outsourcing staff work on low salaries. The employees have been forced to protest every three months for their salaries and were restraining themselves from going on strike as they come under emergency services.

He warned that they would go on indefinite strike if their salary arrears are not paid soon. Union leaders B Meghamala, GH Lakshmi, Indira, Prameela, Sundaramma, Sudha and others participated in the protest
