State govt allocated Rs 27,000 crore for education in current fiscal

'Poverty would never be a stumbling block for educating children, said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy while adding that the State government has allotted Rs 27,000 crore for education in the current fiscal. The chief minister who was here on the last leg of his two-day visit to Vizag and East Godavari districts, addressing a mammoth gathering here on Monday said that the State government has started 355 Model Schools in the educationally backward mandals in the first phase to enable the poor families to educate their children in English medium schools.

Claiming that the First Model School was inaugurated from Anakapalli mandal, he said buildings for 300 schools were already completed and the rest very shortly. In the second phase, as many as 400 Model Schools would come up.

Student's peotry surprises CM,Ministers

An eighth class student of Tummapala ZP high school Hemamalini surprised Chief Minister, other Ministers and MLAs present on the dais with her speech in the form of Telugu poetry highlighting the qualities of the CM, his functioning and introducing of welfare schemes including Bangaru Thalli. The theme of the poetry was that the government has created a strong opinion among parents that a baby girl is not at all a burden to the family but an asset with the launch of Bangaru Thalli.

All the VIPs on the dais complimented the little girl for her valuable script. Inspired by the Telugu poetry read out by an eighth class student P Hemamalini of Tummapala, the CM said the kid's speech has created an opinion that the women deserve 33 per cent reservation in all fields.
