The Deputy CM on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed Government Junior College buildings at Konaimakula village of Geesukonda mandal and at Atmakur in Warangal Rural district.

Warangal: The State government was planning to offer mid-day meals to college students from the academic year 2018-19, said the Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari. The Deputy CM on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed Government Junior College buildings at Konaimakula village of Geesukonda mandal and at Atmakur in Warangal Rural district.

He accused the previous government of failing to improve the infrastructure and quality of education. Special focus was being laid on offering quality education and the development of human resources in Telangana.

He said the government has spent Rs 350 crores during the past three years in improving educational standards in the colleges in the State. Of 404 junior colleges in the State, 392 colleges were equipped with required infrastructure and own buildings were built.

Srihari asked the students - both girls and boys - to excel in their studies and fulfil the expectations of their parents. He advised them to stay away from excessive use of smart phones and spending time on social media platforms.

Parkal MLA Ch Dharma Reddy, Joint-Collector M Haritha, an NRI Jyothi Reddy and others were present.
