babu1Kakinada: Telugu Desam Supremo and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu called upon the people not to forget Telugu language under the influence of globalization. Participating in Ugadi celebrations at N Suravaram village in Tuni Mandal of East Godavari district during his Meekosam Vastunna padayatra on Thursday, he called upon the Telugu speaking people not forget their new year day Ugadi and said as inheritors of the legacy of NT Rama Rao, they should strive to develop Telugu Nationalism. Vedic pundits conducted a Panchanga Sravanam in presence of Chandrababu Naidu and several Telugu Desam leaders and workers. . Ugadi Patchadi was served. Chandrababu Naidu wished that the New Year would bring prosperity to the farmers of the state. The pundits said there would good rain fall in coming year bringing good crops. They predicted that there would be bumper second crop in the ensuing year. Chandrababu Naidu said everybody should strive to keep the unity of Telugu speaking people in the world. He lamented that while giving Telugu the status of ancient language, they established the centre in Mysore. Later he garlanded the statue of Jyothirao Phule on his 187 birthday celebrations and paid his homage. He also garlanded the statue of NT Rama Rao. Later continued his padayatra and ended it at Kakarapalli village in Kota Nadur mandal after walking for 3 kms as he was suffering from pain in the leg. A physiotherapist attended on him. A special medical team has also left from Hyderabad on Thursday evening to treat Naidu's ailment.
