Sister duo Sweta Agrawal and Pallavi Podar, the founders of ‘A Humming Way’ are driven by a holistic vision of luxury and inspired by the old-world regalia of Rajasthan in India. In November 2017, they decided to finally convert passion into a full-fledged career.
They set up a workshop and created the brand’s maiden Khadi collection. The khadi material is sourced from the weavers in Gujrat. The label’s taste in clothing is classic with clean and modern sensibilities in monotones, cutting across the borders and corners of the world.
The label introduced their Enchanted Khadi collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort ’18. The new line is an ideal concoction of pure natural, soothing fabric, fused with organza and sparkling embellishments, structured in exotic silhouettes fabricated to a completely different avatar.
The collection acquires an enchanted appeal through this inventive edition, with the allure of the fabric elating to a runaway stature keeping in mind the strong and confident women of our country today. The silhouettes encompass a range of styles from fitted jackets, pants, long and short dresses and co-ords.
Sweta’s seeds of a career in fashion were sown in the formative years where she felt a severe lack of craftsmanship and detailing in main stream clothes. As a teenager, she often designed her own clothes and that is where the fascination took the next step.
Pallavi trained as Jewellery designer and pursuing it for years, only enhanced her interest in clothing. Even in her early days, she never shied away from experimenting with her clothing. That's why, even though it used to be out-of-the-box and breaching the comfort zone of most of the fashionistas, she would still be widely appreciated for her uniqueness of thought and style.
Their interest in fashion remained a hobby for a long time. However, they had opportunities of traveling, experiencing different cultures, their values and of course local craft which triggered their interest towards fashion again and again as well as it gave them courage to take their dreams more seriously and paved the way for ‘A Humming Way’.
