Botany Department of St. Francis College for Women,  organised ‘Avani 2018’ Inter Collegiate Nature Fest, with the theme ‘Sustainable Living’. The event was supervised by the Prakriti club of the department. Prashanth Lingam, Co – Founder of Bamboo House India was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.

Hyderabad: Botany Department of St. Francis College for Women, organised ‘Avani 2018’ Inter Collegiate Nature Fest, with the theme ‘Sustainable Living’. The event was supervised by the Prakriti club of the department. Prashanth Lingam, Co – Founder of Bamboo House India was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony. He spoke on the importance of sustainable living and our role in safeguarding the environment through responsible choices.

Prominent personalities Amardeep Singh (Independent Business Developer), ArifaRafee (AR4 Organic Mangoes), Usha (ShiamakDavarDance Academy) Sony (Sahithi Komanduri, of Baahubali 2 fame), Mona Ramawat ( India Today) , Mahnoor S were the esteemed judges for the events - Green Entrepreneurship, Express Nature (Talent Show), Battle for Nature (Debate) respectively.

The ‘Green Bazaar’ had stalls offering eco-friendly alternatives, healthy wholesome food choices, art and handicrafts. The chief guest for the valedictory function was Asmita Marwa, an International Fashion Designer. She had an interactive session with the students on the necessity of reducing the quantity of waste and reusing materials for up scaling.
