Hyderabad: The Falaknuma police on Saturday organised a 'Job Connect' programme at the Progress High School, Engine Bowli Falaknuma, as part of its 'community policing' initiative. According to organisers, a total of 4,200 youth, both men and women, holding various educational qualifications, attended the programme held between 9 am and 5 pm.

About 23 companies, who participated in the programme, offered various jobs, including electrician, security guard, para medical assistant, accountant, IELTS and IT based jobs and others. The companies offered jobs for varied educational qualifications both technical and no technical between seventh standard and Post Graduation levels.

Job aspirants from across the Old City and neighbouring areas of Mailardevpally, Pahadishareef, Balapur and Rajendranagar also turned up at the programme.
Companies, who participated in the event, are Apollo Pharmacy, Kairos Composite Services Private Limited, GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute, Big Bazaar (Future Group), Aegis Customer Support Services among other companies. The pay roll offered was between Rs. 96,000 to Rs. 3 lakh a year.

In the run up to the event, the Falaknuma police organized road shows and street corner enrolment camps to mobilise and facilitate the job aspirants for registering for the programme. Hyderabad Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the Telangana State police are taking up several social initiatives as part of its community-based policing initiatives. The Job Connect is one such initiative."We want our youth to be on top in the country and become a partner in the development of the society and lead a happy and dignified life.

Our Job Connect van moves around the city bridging the gap between the job aspirants and recruiting companies," he said. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Amber Kishore Jah, said that the police had ensured that the many women and girls turned up for the event. "It shows there is a demand for jobs from the women and girls.

Keeping note of it during previous event, we have approached few companies, including IELTS, who are keen on offering jobs to women. Eight hundred of the 2,000 jobs offered at the event are for the women and girls," he said. The Programme was conducted under the supervision of K Srinivasa Rao, Falaknuma Inspector of Police, with the guidance of M A Rasheed, Assistant Commissioner of Police.
