Chevella: Pragati Resorts CMD Dr GBK Rao inaugurated the tenth batch of 'Amrutha Aharam' program at the resorts here on Friday. Dr Sarala Khadar, a degree holder in Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS), will guide and mentor the participants of the program on ways to take health diet. The participants will be trained for five days to practice the diet.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rao said, "Foreign countries are following the diet of millets, whereas we Indians are following their diet of Pizzas and Burgers. This is making even children to visit doctors at their early stages of life. If you are your own doctor, your health will be in your hands. By taking a healthy diet, one can be away from many diseases."
Dr Rao explained the benefits and features of herbal plants, such as Punarnava, Kalpavruksham, Ranapala, Sadaapaaku, Madhuka, Ippapuvvu, Brahmakamalam, Brahmakumari, Ganuga, Insulin plant, Parijatham, Vepa, and Lavanga Tulasi.
"We are living with a false notion that millets are poor man's food. It should be changed. Even our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is campaigning to eat millets, as it consumes less water when compared to others. Pragati group is growing a variety of medicated plants and millets," he said. Ayurvedic Doctor Sridhar, Naturopathy Dr Suresh and senior plant scientist Dr Rama Rao were present at the event.
