Hyderabad: All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary SA Sampath on Tuesday warned Finance Minister Harish Rao to be alert about the tactics of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Addressing the media, he said that Harish would be made scapegoat of financial mismanagement by the government. He stated that Harish may be made a villain in the eyes of the people.

Explaining his observations, Sampath said that the government is yet to release amount to 28 lakh farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme. The Congress leader mentioned that out of Rs 6,000 crores earmarked for Rythu Bandhu, only 30 per cent has been released.

He flayed the TRS government for not releasing the amount under the scheme for Kharif even as the Rabi season is approaching fast for which the government has to release the second installment.

The government is yet to begin the crop loan waiver scheme which benefits about 30 lakh farmers, he said and informed that under Rythu Bandhu scheme only farmers who have less than five acres have received amounts.

The Congress leader said that the government did not give any amount to the farmers, who want to set up drip irrigation. Under this scheme, the equipment is supplied with 90 per cent subsidy, he added.

Sampath mentioned that the government has been failing to protect the interests of farmers and the Chief Minister would blame Harish Rao for it.

He said that when Telugu Desam government was pulled down in 1995, NT Rama Rao was Chief Minister and N Chandrababu Naidu, who happens to be son-in-law of NTR, was Finance minister.

Sampath said that similar situation is appearing in the State as Chandrashekar Rao is the Chief Minister and his nephew Harish Rao is the Finance Minister.

He alleged that family members of the Chief Minister have hatched a conspiracy to blame Harish for their failures.
