Bhadrachalam: A woman had to perform her son's last rites with her father only, as none came forward to help her during the lockdown, in Bhadrachalam town.

According to sources, 12-year-old boy Sadik alias Jaswanth lives along with his mother Fareedha alias Nagamani and brother in Sundaraiah Nagar in Bhadrachalam. His father died 10 years ago.

Sadik, who has been suffering with heart related problems since childhood, got severe attack on Sunday night. he was admitted in Government Area Hospital and later he died in the later hours of Sunday night.

Neither his relatives nor neighbours came to console the family and to help in conducting the final rites of the boy. The helpless mother, uncle and grandfather took the body on a rickshaw and conducted the final rites on Godavari riverbed on Monday.
