Celebrate festivals amid peace, say officials to people
District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam on Thursday called upon people to celebrate the upcoming festivals like Bakrid and Vinayaka Chathurthi in a peaceful manner.
Tandur: District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam on Thursday called upon people to celebrate the upcoming festivals like Bakrid and Vinayaka Chathurthi in a peaceful manner.
A meeting with heads of different religions was organised here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that the festivals were meant for celebrating together and all the events should be held peacefully. She advised them not to provoke one another.
District police chief Narayana asked the religious leaders to cooperate with police for smooth conduct of festivals. He said cruelty against cows and calves during Bakrid would not be tolerated. He advised them not to get carried over by the messages in social media.
District Additional SP Bhaskar, RDO Venumadhava Rao, Tahasildar Dasharath, Tandur DSP Ramachandrudu, CI Ravikumar, Sis of Peddemul, Yalal, Karankot Suresh, Vithal Reddy, Mahipal Reddy, Santhosh Kumar, and representatives of Hindu Utsava committee, Muslim Welfare Association, Christian Association, leaders of various political parties, and members of youth associations were present.
