Hyderabad: Alleging that false information being disseminated by the TRS leaders on the grants released by the Central government, State BJP spokesperson NV Subhash said that the Narendra Modi government sanctioned funds liberally for the development of Telangana.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he found fault with the Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar's comment on the announcement of Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stating that the Centre released only the State share collected as a revenue tax. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had told Parliament that the Centre released Rs 1.58 lakh crore to the State in the last six years. The BJP leader said the Union Finance Minister gave details of funds released to the State as per recommendations of the 14th Financial Commission.

Also, the Modi government had released funds separately for various projects and schemes which includes laying of national roads, Girijan University, Horticulture University, central educational institutions which are not included in the statement of the Union Finance Minister, the State BJP official spokesperson said.

BJP has been demanding the ruling TRS government to release a White Paper on the funds received from the Central government for various projects and schemes. Now Vinod Kumar should explain why the State government is not releasing a White Paper on the Central funds, he questioned.

Subhash suggested the TRS leaders not to indulge in misleading the people of the State who are aware of development programmes of Modi government, which is constantly striving hard for the welfare of the people.
