Nizamabad: With the advent of Sravana masam, the price of eggs was slashed to Rs 3.50 from Rs 5 per piece. Usually there will be no demand for eggs, chicken and meat during this month, hence the egg rates were trimmed.
Two days ago, each piece rate was Rs 5 and now the rate fell. Consumption was reduced drastically.
On the other hand, after Sravana masam, the Hindu festivals will commence with Ganesh festival, which discourages non-vegetarian food consumption. At the same time, the prices of vegetables and fruits will go up.
