Telangana: The farm laws brought by the central government would increase the financial burden on the state besides having a severe impact on farmers, said Telangana State Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy on Sunday.

Speaking to media, Reddy said that farmers' agitation in the North Indian states has reached 30 days and is still being continued despite the cold weather conditions adding that the condition of farmers' from North India is different from South India referring to the comments of some political parties.

"Telangana is the only state to purchase crops from the farmers. However, the farmers in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh get the price which is lower than the minimum support price," he said hoping that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would find a solution to the farmers' agitation that is planned on December 29.

He also appealed to the centre to discuss with the state governments and farmers and take their suggestions on the new farm laws and also urged suspension of the farm laws implementation until the decision is made.
