Frequent, long power cuts irk Kondapur
Power cuts in Kondapur have turned out to be a regular problem in the area. The situation is turning worse and the residents are demanding that the areas be declared as ‘No Electricity Zone’.

"Moreover, the toll-free number for FOC (fuse off calls) is always busy or kept on hold for a long time and then we are forced to cut the call," say disappointed locals. When contacted, Rama Chary, Assistant Engineer, Electrical, GHMC, said that at least 300 FOC were being received everyday and that they were trying to sort out the issue of every call.
"We are unable to utilise the work from home option due to the repeated and rapid power cuts in our area. Even if we call the toll-free complaint number, they abruptly cut the call or put us on hold and forget that we are waiting. We are badly disappointed with the power cuts in Kondapur," said Sama Prathima Reddy, a techie who resides in Kondapur.
"Though we have a generator, it doesn't work for long hours.Sometimes the power cut is so long that it goes on till next morning to evening for no proper reason.We had to take leave for the day incur loss of pay. We are seriously planning to relocate from the area for this particular reasononly," said K Sravanthi, a software developer with TMC.
Netizens on twitter keep onposting their difficulties, tagging the officials, and the war of words among them is becoming very common.A majority of the residents of the area are demanding that Kondapur area be even declared as a 'No Electricity Zone' due to the excessive and random power cuts in the area.
