Hyderabad: BJP condemns attack on media house
Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao condemned the attack on the office of a TV channel.
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao condemned the attack on the office of a TV channel. In their statements, the BJP leaders demanded strong action against the miscreants attacking the media house.
Sanjay Kumar said there is no place for such attack on media and the press in a democracy. " I strongly condemn and demand stringent action against those responsible." Adding further, he said protecting the freedom of the press and media is the responsibility of everyone.
Krishna Saagar Rao said that BJP strongly condemns the attack on the media office by few miscreants on Thursday night.
The party considers it as an attack on media freedom in Telugu States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He said that those in power should have the tolerance to questioning, criticism and even dissent. Intolerance to media criticism and indulging in oppressive and violent acts is against the basic tenets of democracy, he said.
