Hyderabad: Demolition drive against illegal structures continues

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Lokesh Kumar in a release on Wednesday said that in continuance of special drive on demolitions of unauthorised structures, the Town Planning Wing of Chanda Nagar circle has taken up demolitions in Gurukul trust lands.
Three teams put in use 11 compressors, three gas cutters, two JCBs and demolished slabs of five buildings and five structures completely till ground level.
A total of 29 illegal constructions have been identified in the area out of which 25 have been pulled down in a span of three days starting from June 29.
The Commissioner appealed to the citizens not to indulge in unauthorised buildings which may cause irreparable loss.
This special drive of unauthorized demolitions would continue further, he added. About 15 illegal structures were demolished in the last week.
