Junior docs hold flash protest alleging attack

Hyderabad: In a major faux pas, Gandhi Hospital staff sent a wrong dead body for cremation on Tuesday. A person from Gurumurthy Nagar in Begumpet had died of corona. His body was taken for cremation and family members who reached there were shocked to see that the body brought there did not belong to their family.

They cornered the ambulance staff after which police sent the body back to Gandhi hospital. The wife of the deceased reached the hospital later and demanded officials to show her husband's body. She went to a mortuary and identified her husband's body.

Meanwhile, junior doctors resorted to flash strike on the hospital premises alleging attack by a patient's attendants on Tuesday.

They said that a Covid patient aged 55 years, who was a diabetic and was not in good condition, went to toilet on his own despite being advised against movements by the doctors. He accidently fell in the toilet and later he died.

His attendants, who got to know this news, were furious and vented their anger against the duty doctors. Doctors alleged that chairs were thrown at them which injured a doctor.
