Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the collectors to chalk out a plan to restore forests across the state.

Touring in Siddipet district on Wednesday, KCR reviewed the forest restoration works at Singaipalli, Nenturu and Komatikonda. He said that the results of the forest restoration work carried out three years ago in Gajwel are visible now. Taking Gajwel as a model, he asked collectors to chalk out a plan for forest restoration across Telangana.

"The state does not have forests as against 23.4 per cent of the forest land," KCR said asking the officials to grow the trees by making use of rootstock in the forest.

Later, the chief minister visited the Mission Bhagiratha plant in Komatibanda along with the collectors.
