Mahbubnagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and activists staged a protest in front of the office of District Medical and Health Officer here on Monday and demanded the government immediate implementation of the Central government's Ayushman Bharat health scheme in the State. They also demanded the government to bring Covid-19 disease under Arogyasri scheme so as to facilitate more people to get tested for coronavirus and get treatment in various leading corporate hospitals across the State.

Taking part in the agitation, BJP State representative Raghunandan Rao, party district president Yerra Sekhar, former district president Padmaja Reddy and local leaders alleged that the State government putting the health of the people at risk by not conducting adequate corona tests.

The leaders questioned the TRS government as to why their party MLAs, who were tested corona positive are admitting in corporate hospitals, when the State government is claiming of providing all facilities for corona patients at Gandhi Hospital. They reminded that the Central government is providing a health insurance of Rs 50 lakh to health, municipal departments and journalists, but the State government is ignoring the public health and putting their lives at risk.
