Miss World Australia Tela Kenon visited the handloom park in Pochampally on Wednesday. After observing the process of making saris on handlooms, she examined the various designs of Pochampally fame Ikat saris and appreciated the skill of handloom weavers.

Bhoodan-Pochampally (Yadadri-Bhongir): Miss World Australia Tela Kenon visited the handloom park in Pochampally on Wednesday. After observing the process of making saris on handlooms, she examined the various designs of Pochampally fame Ikat saris and appreciated the skill of handloom weavers.

She wore an Ikat sari and expressed pleasure over her tour to Pochampally. Park director Bharatha Lava Kumar explained about the global identity of Ikat saris, historical background, marketing facilities and employment to handloom workers.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Tela Kenon participated in Jayanti celebrations held at the park. After garlanding the portrait of Gandhi, she stated that Gandhi's teachings and ideology were role model to the world. Philanthropist Shravanthi Gotla, Social worker Satish Sikha, park representatives Govardhan and Nagaraju and others were present during Kenon's visit.
