Non-compliance to the helmet wearing is main reason for the deaths of bikers

Hyderabad: As many as 21 persons were killed in fatal road accidents occurred on the city roads during January due to over speeding. Traffic police officials thoroughly analysed all the road accidents and found that 21 out of 22 fatal road accidents were occurred due to over speeding in the city.

The analysis shows that 6 drivers had driven their vehicles in overspeed and dashed themselves to hard objects and died. Three other drivers driving vehicle at overspeed died due to accidental skidding.

In remaining 13 cases, the drivers drove their vehicles in rash and negligent manner. In the month of January 2020, 14 motorcycle riders and 8 pedestrians were killed in road accidents.

Out of 14 two-wheeler riders, 12 riders including 3 pillion riders were not wearing helmets. 3 RTC buses, 1 lorry, 3 medium goods vehicles, one motorcycle and 5 unknown vehicles were involved in road accidents.

Another four fatal accidents occurred due to drunken driving. In the above comprehensive analysis of road accidents reveals that overspeeding is the major reason for death of 21 motorists.

According to traffic police, bikers and pedestrians are most vulnerable group and non-compliance to the helmet wearing is main reason for the deaths of bikers.
