Patancheru: CITU national secretary feted
Chukka Ramulu who has been elected CITU all-India secretary was felicitated on Wednesday on the premises of Sandvik Industries here by the company’s Employees’ Union. The union leaders congratulated him on the election.

Addressing the gathering, Ramulu stated that CITU had taken up many national-level agitations along with all central trade unions for achieving unity among labour work force. He alleged that the Central government was weakening labour laws to suit the needs of big investors under four wage code.
Ramulu revealed that at the three-day all-India CITU Mahasabha which concluded in Chennai on January 27 had discussed the Centre's anti-labour policies and finalised the struggle programme to oppose such policies. The CITU leader recalled starting a trade union movement 35 years back. 'Now with the cooperation of all concerned I have risen to become the all-India secretary', he said while thanking them.
Among those present on the occasion included Sandvik Union leaders P Panduranga Reddy, S Srinivas Rao, B Pradeep Kumar, M Sathi Babu, workers.
