Project displaced move into rehabilitation colony
“Your sacrifice is invaluable” remarked the Finance Minister T Harish Rao while thanking those offering their lands for Kaleshwaram project. “Our Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao asked us to provide the land donors with two-bedroom housing facility in the area”, he said. He formally launched a new ‘Relief and Rehabilitation’ village near here on Wednesday.

He formally launched a new 'Relief and Rehabilitation' village near here on Wednesday.
Harish Rao said the new colony was named as "Ranganayakapuram" which provides rehabilitation to land donors on permanent basis. "As per KCR's directive, we have built 130 two-bedroom houses. The State government was committed to welfare of those coming forward to help build big projects.
This project will give waters to Suryapet district," Harish Rao said. He also said the officials have made available all facilities in the new colony, which was the first Relief and Rehabilitation (R & R) colony in the country after the land acquisition, R&R Act, 2013, was enacted by Parliament. It was the first rehabilitation colony under Kaleshwaram Project near Lingareddypally village in Siddipet Urban mandal, he said.
The State government spent over Rs 10 crore to build the colony comprising 130 double-bedroom houses. The villagers of Kotchaguttapally of Chinnakoduru Mandal, which will be submerged under Anathagiri Reservoir (storage capacity 3.5 TMCft) are the beneficiaries of the colony. Following an appeal by the beneficiaries, the colony was named as Ranganayakapuram after Lord Ranganyaka.
The colony was provided with all the infrastructure facilities like CC roads, electricity supply and drinking water connections, he said, adding that construction of a school and a community hall was underway. An Anjaneya Swamy temple too would be constructed in the colony, he assured them.
Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Siddipet District Collector P Venaktarami Reddy and Zilla Parishad Chairperson Roja Sharma visited each and every house in the colony. They congratulated the beneficiaries and exchanged sweets with them.
