Provide nutritious food to children: Nirmal Collector M Prashanthi

Nirmal: District Collector M Prashanthi called upon the district administration to make child rights week-long celebrations successful at an all departments coordination meeting at the Collector chamber in Nirmal on Friday.

The Collector told the ICDS officers to distribute ravva laddu, palli patti and nutritious food to children and told the education department to identify school dropouts and join them in the main stream. She ordered the medical and health department to take necessary action to avoid anaemia in children and to give iron tablets to teenage girls, pregnant women and women.

Prashanthi directed the officials concerned to ensure that private scanning centres are conducting sex determination tests in the district, according to the PNDT Act.

'Conduct essay writing competition on child rights to create awareness among the children and distribute prizes on November 13, the Children Rights Day and also conduct a rally'.
