Secunderabad: Railway Protection Force organised an awareness programme on women safety at Secunderabad railway station as part of International Women's Day on Sunday. Senior security divisional officer of Indian Railways Gandhi made several suggestions on precautions to be taken by women passengers during their railway journeys.

He said that several gangs from north India were targeting women passengers in AP and Telangana state to steal golden ornaments and women needs to take necessary precautions.

RPF staff went around various platforms of the railway station and explained them precautions to be taken, as part of the awareness programme. A skit demonstrating on how women can handle eve teasers conducted on the occasion. The programme received positive response from women passengers.
