A student attempted suicide here at Mahboobnagar allegedly due to ragging on Sunday.
A student attempted suicide here at Mahboobnagar allegedly due to ragging on Sunday. Santosh Naik who is pursuing intermediate first year at Prathiba junior college is being harassed by his seniors ever since he joined the course.
Santosh is said to have depressed over the ragging and went to his native place a few days ago. On Sunday, he attempted suicide by consuming poison when there was no one at home. However, Santosh was found unconscious when his family members returned home.
He was shifted to a nearby hospital and is undergoing treatment. Santosh told the police that he decided to end life due to the harassment from seniors who used to abuse him. Based on the complaint lodged by Santosh's parents, the police registered a case and are investigating.
