Warangal: Telugu Desam workers paid rich tributes to former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao on the occasion of his 96th birth anniversary here on Tuesday.
After paying floral tributes to the portrait of NTR at the party office, TDP politburo member Revuri Prakash Reddy recalled the legendary actor-turned-politician's contribution to the development of united Andhra Pradesh.
"NTR who carved out a niche for himself in Indian politics made Telugu people proud. In fact, he (NTR) is the one who heralded the self respect of Telugu people," Reddy said.
A host of welfare schemes and programmes are the brainchild of NTR, he said.
Senior TDP leaders Pulluru Ashok Kumar, Jatoth Santhosh Naik, K Vinod Kumar, Margam Sarangam, B Prabhakar, G Devender Reddy, S Sampath, Pothuraju, Anil Kumar, K Jayashankar, M Raju Goud, K Mahender and B Venkatesh were among others present.
