Khammam: The Khammam district is all ready for the Teachers' MLC election for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers' constituency to be held on Friday.

All the teachers unions are taking these elections very seriously and have conducted campaigns to draw the attention of voters.

According to officials, 20,851 voters belonging to 185 mandals will elect their representative in this election.

In Khammam district, 24 polling stations have been set up to help 3,634 teacher voters cast their votes.

The polling will commence from 8 am and will continue till 4 pm. Officials said several new polling centres have been established all over the three districts to facilitate the voters.

Unlike Assembly elections, Teachers' MLC elections have always adopted ballot system rather than EVM machines.

Meanwhile, six candidates are in the fray. Of them, four candidates are supported by various teachers' unions and other two are fighting independently.

Unlike other elections, voters will be allowed to vote for more than one member but have to specify their choices by order of preference. The counting will take place on March 26.
