Telangana CM KCR launches tirade against Modi government
TRS to host conclave of non-Cong, non-BJP CMs
Hyderabad: Even as the battle for Greater Hyderabad is seen as a tussle between TRS and BJP, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday hit the saffron party where it hurts the most -- the Central government. KCR strategically listed out the policies taken up by the Narendra Modi-led government that were detrimental to the development of the country.
Speaking at the TRS Legislature Party here at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, a day after election schedule announced for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, KCR announced that he would hold a conclave of chief ministers of non-Congress and non-BJP ruled states in the second week of December to draw out a plan to fight against the Centre's anti-people and anti-farmer policies.
After paying tributes to former Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy, KCR during the meeting said that Odisha Chief Minister Navin Patnaik, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and others were in touch with him. During the meeting attended by people's representatives, KCR said the Modi government at the Centre did nothing for the country in the last six-and-a-half years and made the country go backwards with its wrong policies and fake campaigns.
There is a responsibility on other political parties to counter the policies of the BJP government at the Centre.
Reminding that the public sector companies were set up with economic and social responsibility, KCR said that the BJP government was undoing this purpose. It had adopted disinvestment policy and handed over these PSUs to the corporate companies. "A new trend has started in the country now. The BJP is trying to make people believe that they have done so many things without doing anything. The party has made the social media as anti-social media and promoting all lies and creating differences among the people," said the TRS chief adding the time has come to fight against all these.
The TRS chief further said that the BJP government led by Modi has not taken up a single good effort for people, farmers, Dalits, tribals or weaker sections. "They don't have a single issue to say what they have done. They come up with issues like Pakistan, Kashmir, Pulwama during the time of elections and whip up hatred among people on the basis of religion. They create riots and try to get benefit out of it. They try to propagate that they are doing something at the borders but they could not face China. They come up with attractive slogans like 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' and do nothing," said KCR.
The TRS chief recalled that the BJP government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee had a disinvestment minister and disinvested in seven PSUs and Manmohan Singh government went ahead with disinvestment of three companies. Now the Modi government is proposing for disinvestment of 23 companies and handing them to corporates. Mentioning about LIC, Railways, NTPC, BHEL, BSNL, Defence and BPCL, KCR alleged that the government was trying to disinvest these public sector units and added that lakhs of employees would be affected.
